A trip to visit the Amazon is a fascinating journey filled with incredible wildlife, unbelievable biodiversity, and authentic indigenous cultures. You can travel to the Amazon Basin in Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, and Brazil.

Many Amazon trips are lodge-based where you travel by boat or other vehicle to a remote lodge (many of which are owned by indigenous groups!) and then walk and canoe around the area to view wildlife, and to learn about the rainforest from indigenous or naturalist guides. While most lodges are wildlife focused, a few specialize in sharing the culture of the indigenous groups that own the lodge.

You can also visit the Amazon on an adventure trip, such as a whitewater rafting journey down a remote river, or sea kayaking deep into the heart of the rainforest.
