A fabulous journey into wild Costa Rica on the Osa Peninsula!

Marenco Beach & Rain Forest Lodge is situated on a privately-owned nature reserve and lodge located in what is probably Costa Rica's greatest natural endowment, the rain forest and scenic coastal regions and beaches of the Osa Peninsula. The Lodge is tucked up against the Corcovado National Park, home of the last remaining virgin coastal tropical rainforest in Central America!

Marenco's breathtaking, exotic coastal location provides unlimited opportunities for adventure, family recreation, nature study, research and yes--even some rest and relaxation, in one of the world's classic wilderness areas.

Marenco has a unique, non-traditional approach to conservation and tourism. We believe that business and conservation interests can, and must, work together toward the preservation and wise use of tropical areas. We also hope to bridge the gap between conservation and tourism; to help develop an awareness of the delicate balance and intricacy of natural systems. This is the reason why the scientific community is backing efforts of tourism to organize and conduct tours in which an appreciation of ecology and nature, as well as beautiful scenery and recreational activities are featured.

Rainforest Wilderness at Marenco Lodge

by kennyg, Aug 24, 2006

This place is awesome if you want to experience the heart of the jungle without sleeping on the ground! The staff were warm and friendly and really fun. The Osa Peninsula is amazing--the last wild Costa Rican rainforest, and very different from the rest of the country. There is very little development and the jungle is pristine. The rooms are pretty basic and electricity is run by a generator that shuts down at night. The open dining area/bar is the best part as it has great views of the ocean below, and provides great viewing of toucans, macaws and monkeys in the nearby trees. We found this place so relaxing we couldn't remember what day it was on only our second day there. The Osa is fantastic, and if you are willing to rough it a bit Marenco is a great way to visit.

TESTIMONIALS

We are back from a fabulous time at the Refugio Amazonas! I have nothing but raves about it all! Thanks for your help in getting us to this great place!

-- Susan L, Refugio Amazonas Family Adventure

We just got back from Peru on Sunday. It was a GREAT trip. We thoroughly enjoyed it! The highlight was truly the trek to Machu Picchu. Thanks for all of your help in making the trip very special. Everything went off without a hitch. We were very impressed.

-- Mary Ann, B., Multi-Activity Peru

We had a great time on the Galapagos Cruise. Our guides were very engaging and informative and everything was timed just right. We had the right amount of activity, food and leisure time every day. We are not \"cruising\" people and were apprehensive at first about being stuck on a boat for 7 days but we didn\'t feel \"stuck\" given the number of excursions we had each day and the fact that we snorkeled at least once or twice a day. We also extended our trip on the Islands and stayed at a hotel but definitely would recommend a cruise over staying on the islands. The islands gets very hot and there are lots of mosquitos but on the boat there is shade, wind and no bugs! Great amount of variety of animals and geography we saw. Sad to leave!

-- Wendy K., Galapagos Islands on the Eric, Letty, and Flamingo

I want to say I LOVED the trip. ECOCAMP was divine. Really amazing setting. The mix of people in the group was healthy. We all liked each other enough to dine every meal together.

-- Roshi G., Torres del Paine 7-day Trek
