A "Tourist Superior" yacht with First Class services, the Angelito I is an all-wooden ship that was built in 1992.
There is plenty of room for relaxing outdoors on one of the four shade or sun decks, including the well-lit dining deck with bar. The interior has a spacious dining room and salon, and is air-conditioned throughout. She has 8 air-conditioned double cabins, each with upper and lower bunks and private bathrooms with hot shower.
Service is the name of the game on the Angelito, as one of the owners always skippers the yacht, and the yacht works with two naturalist guides exclusively, each of whom has extensive experience in the Galapagos.
Don't measure your Galapagos travel itinerary in miles. The traveling time to the far-away islands is long and can mean that time for visiting this islands is often not in proportion to the time it takes to get there.- Our itinerary avoids these long, tiring journeys. It is balanced and well thought out to ensure that each day offers a wide variety of landscapes and the chance to see the maximum number of animals and plants. We believe that it is also important that you have enough time to walk on the islands and to enjoy, explore, closely observe and photograph the wildlife. You will not be pushed through just to move on to the next island.
It is also important that you get to know the Galapagos islands under water. For this reason, the Angelito has good and enough equipment for snorkeling and we allow plenty of time to explore the amazing underwater world. Even those who have never tried snorkeling are encouraged to give it a go. We like to help you, and for your safety and security our dinghy is always close by.
For us it is also important that our guests can find enough space to have a pleasant and comfortable time while we are sailing and can relax during siesta time, in the morning hours and in the evenings. Our spacious sun and shadow decks which, together with a very large saloon/dining room, provide many comfortable areas to read, take a siesta or simply relax between island visits.
Families with children are welcome on Angelito I which provides a safe and comfortable environment for all. Itineraries for family charters are specially adapted to make the cruise enjoyable for everyone. In case of a charter, our itinerary can be changed, according to your requirements, subject to the agreement of the National Park Authority.
During standard tours, the National Park Guide speaks English and Spanish. However, one of our guides is Maja from Swizerland who has more than 14 years experience in the Galapagos and who has been working with us all this time. If you book your charter early, we can offer you Maja as a guide in German. Eight day trips start on Sundays.

Why should I choose this trip? What makes it better (different) than other trips?
ANGELITO - the original boat was named in grateful memory of Angel, the grandfather of Galapagos born brothers Hugo and Leonardo Andrade, who helped his two grandsons to build their first fishing boat, with which they could earn a living and support their families.
As pioneers in the Galapagos, the brothers gave up fishing and converted their boat to carry visitors to the islands. Their extensive knowledge of the islands, gained over the years of working as fishermen, had made them expert captains and guides, extremely well able to explain the natural beauty of the Galapagos to tourists.
Thus they took an important step to support the conservation of the Galapagos, by moving from fishing to actively promoting the protection of their islands.
After more than a decade of working in tourism, the brothers were able to apply their extensive knowledge and experience in the design of the Angelito I, ensuring that it was equipped with all the facilities needed to provide maximum security and comfort for tourists.
Built in the Galapagos, its solid wood construction has more than proved itself, as shown by its unblemished safety record.
And - safety has to have first priority in a cruise.

Galapagos Islands on the Yacht Angelito I
by Karena P., Jan 18, 2007
This trip far, far exceeded my expectations. The guide (Diego) was a native of the Galapagos with more than 25 years of experience as a naturalist. He spoke at least 4 languages, was fascinating, and (most importantly) had an excellent sense of humor. The accomodations were basic, but more than adequate with great ventilation. The crew was wonderful. The itinery was fantastic and I felt like our family (kids ages 11 and 15) lived for a week on the set of an equisite nature documentary. I was happy that everyone in our group was fit enough to participate effortlessy in the hikes, swims, etc.
The little extras aboard the Angelito added greatly to the trip:
*There were two pangas, so our whole group could travel to shore/go snorkeling/etc. without one group waiting.
*The crew greeted us when we returned from an outing with homemade treats and juice. My favorite were the fresh banana fritattas.
*The rooms were cleaned every time we left the boat (beds made and trash empied). The sheets were changed every day. Wow!
*The evening briefings -- about what would happen the next day, what we'd see, biological/geological features and why they were important -- were excellent. I liked the way the guide compared and contrasted the informaiton in the books with what he has experienced over the last 25 years.
*The final night's "happy hour and banquet."
*The owner of the boat came on board in the end of the trip to hear feedback. I'm sure this makes the services provided better.

TESTIMONIALS
We are back from a fabulous time at the Refugio Amazonas! I have nothing but raves about it all! Thanks for your help in getting us to this great place!
-- Susan L, Refugio Amazonas Family Adventure
We just got back from Peru on Sunday. It was a GREAT trip. We thoroughly enjoyed it! The highlight was truly the trek to Machu Picchu. Thanks for all of your help in making the trip very special. Everything went off without a hitch. We were very impressed.
-- Mary Ann, B., Multi-Activity Peru
We had a great time on the Galapagos Cruise. Our guides were very engaging and informative and everything was timed just right. We had the right amount of activity, food and leisure time every day. We are not \"cruising\" people and were apprehensive at first about being stuck on a boat for 7 days but we didn\'t feel \"stuck\" given the number of excursions we had each day and the fact that we snorkeled at least once or twice a day. We also extended our trip on the Islands and stayed at a hotel but definitely would recommend a cruise over staying on the islands. The islands gets very hot and there are lots of mosquitos but on the boat there is shade, wind and no bugs! Great amount of variety of animals and geography we saw. Sad to leave!

I want to say I LOVED the trip. ECOCAMP was divine. Really amazing setting. The mix of people in the group was healthy. We all liked each other enough to dine every meal together.
