Day 2
Take a tour to Caracol with stops at Rio Frio Cave and Rio on Pools on the way back.
Caracol Tour
35 miles from the Inn, deep in the Chiquibul Wilderness lies one of the largest sites of the Ancient Mayan world with over 4000 structures spread over 55 square miles.
Cloaked in a jungle shroud, it is difficult to appreciate the extent of this mighty city. Excavation to date has revealed amongst others the towering temple of Caana (the Sky Palace), Belize's tallest manmade structure. The view from the top over the pristine jungle is breathtaking. Trails have been cut through the surrounding jungle for those interested in observing the wealth of fauna, flora and birdlife that inhabit the area.
Rio Frio Cave
Rio Frio Cave is open at both ends and arches to 65 feet in its center. A crystal clear stream runs through the cave and glittering stalactites decorate the interior. This is one of the least physically challenging caves in Belize. This cave is usually included in the day trip to Caracol.
Rio On Pools
Numerous clear pools and waterfalls for swimming make a refreshing break on the journey back from Caracol.
Day 3
Barton Creek Cave Canoeing
Drive through a rural Mennonite settlement and traverse several creeks to reach Barton Creek Cave. Here embark on a canoe and glide through the darkness, armed with a spotlight. Your guide will point out various magnificent formations and ancient relics and explain some of the beliefs and rituals of the ancient Maya. A peaceful and relaxing journey into the underworld.
Green Hills Butterfly Farm
Observe the life cycle of a butterfly and view close-up the stunning blue-morpho butterfly. This farm exports to all over the world and is one of the most established in Belize.
Day 4
Hike through a forest alongside a bubbling stream or take a bicycle to some of the lookouts where waterfalls tumble off the escarpment into the dense jungle below. Pause a while to enjoy a refreshing swim in a crystal clear rock pool below one of our breathtaking waterfalls. Or book a tour to view Mayan ruins, ride horses, canoe, or go cave exploring.
Day 5
Enjoy a relaxing breakfast before departing for Belize City or your next Belizean adventure

TESTIMONIALS
We are back from a fabulous time at the Refugio Amazonas! I have nothing but raves about it all! Thanks for your help in getting us to this great place!
-- Susan L, Refugio Amazonas Family Adventure
We just got back from Peru on Sunday. It was a GREAT trip. We thoroughly enjoyed it! The highlight was truly the trek to Machu Picchu. Thanks for all of your help in making the trip very special. Everything went off without a hitch. We were very impressed.
-- Mary Ann, B., Multi-Activity Peru
We had a great time on the Galapagos Cruise. Our guides were very engaging and informative and everything was timed just right. We had the right amount of activity, food and leisure time every day. We are not \"cruising\" people and were apprehensive at first about being stuck on a boat for 7 days but we didn\'t feel \"stuck\" given the number of excursions we had each day and the fact that we snorkeled at least once or twice a day. We also extended our trip on the Islands and stayed at a hotel but definitely would recommend a cruise over staying on the islands. The islands gets very hot and there are lots of mosquitos but on the boat there is shade, wind and no bugs! Great amount of variety of animals and geography we saw. Sad to leave!

I want to say I LOVED the trip. ECOCAMP was divine. Really amazing setting. The mix of people in the group was healthy. We all liked each other enough to dine every meal together.
