Trek Complete Package in Inca Trail Treks

Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail have reopened again following January's flooding that damaged the train access to Machu Picchu, and Inca Trail season is operating normally. Inca Trail permits generally sell out 4-6 months in advance, especially for the busy summer holiday season.

Currently (as of April 22, 2010) permits are sold out until mid August, with only limited availability for the end of August. Permit availability is pretty good from September through the end of the year, but this can change quickly. Book as soon as possible to guarantee space on your Inca Trail trip. The Inca trail trek can only be described as magical. I tried my best to be cynical, but it didn’t work. This trip was pure magic and absolutely perfect. The logistics of the trip were impeccable. The ground transportation was on time and they made sure I was able to obtain my boarding pass and pay the airport tax at each leg of the trip. Out on the hike, my guide Oswaldo was fabulous. The food on the trail was amazing. The chef created simple and fresh meals that were bursting with local flavor.
